It is rightly so, as the destination offers a blend of flawless natural beauty with exotic and rich cultural heritage. However, hosting a destination wedding in Turkey could be expensive. Recently, I have been getting quite a number of inquiries from Indian Couples, hence I decided to write this post on the cost of Indian destination wedding in Turkey. I will however try to cover the major requisites so as to give you a basic idea on the overall cost. Let’s begin with the available wedding destinations in Turkey…
Wedding Destinations in Turkey
Broadly, Turkey offers three destinations to host weddings namely, Istanbul, the capital city of Turkey. Antalya, the beach city and also famous as the capital of tourism in Turkey and Bodrum which has a fascinating history of its own. It features twin bays and is home to one of the seven wonders of the ancient world – the Mausoleum at Halicarnassus.
Best Season to Host Destination Wedding in Turkey
You can plan to host your destination wedding during the months of April and May or September to November. Rainfall is less and temperature during this period is between 16 to 28 degrees. You can host more of outdoor events with activities. Your guests can also enjoy sightseeing.
Cost of Travel to Turkey
Major cities of India like New Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore operate direct flights to Istanbul. You can go with scheduled flights by Indigo or Turkish airlines. The minimum flying time is 7.5 hours. The minimum cost of per person airfare for a round trip would be INR 50K
To reach cities like Antalya and Bodrum, you have to book connecting flights of the same airline. The minimum cost of per person airfare for a round trip would be INR 70K

The minimum cost per person is around INR 100K per person for a round trip, which is substantially higher than scheduled flights but it saves a lot on the travel time.

You can apply for single entry tourist visa directly through the Turkish embassy or apply online. The processing time is between 3 to 25 working days . The visa fee is INR 4270. The visa is valid for 3months.
Currency in Turkey

Mehendi, Sangeet, Haldi and main Wedding are the typical Indian wedding functions. You can host the sangeet, cocktail or reception parties in the ballroom whereas the haldi, mehendi could be hosted in the outdoors lawn or pool area. PHOTOGRAPHY & VIDEOGRAPHY
You can hire and fly down your own photographer from India, it is feasible and cheaper than hiring a local one from Turkey. However you have to bear their travel and accommodation. A photographer from India can charge anywhere between INR 500K to INR 1M which is 5K to 10K Euros

Lonavala is a beautiful getaway destination surrounded by hill ranges and the popular Pawna lake. It is amongst the sought after tourist destinations in summer. It is 90 mins drive from Pune city and 2hrs drive from Mumbai city. Hence, engaged couples belonging from these cities have a go to option for hosting a destination wedding in summer.
